| I just saw on the Internet that Eric Crouch has decided to retire from the Rams. Whaaa? He played in one pre-season game, did pretty good, but got hurt. Now, at least as far as the press is concerned, he was feeling dejected about his role on the team and decided to quit. That just doesn't seem right. I hope he's not done with football and reconsiders what this decision will mean long-term. |

| Patriot DayPatriot Day | 9/11/2002 |
I saw over at The Force.net that today is referred to as Patriot Day. I'm not sure if they made it up or if they got it from someplace official, but I like the sound of it and will refer to Sept. 11 as Patriot Day.
Go to the Babies page for some new pics of Mushroom and The Beans. (These are new nicknames since they are now larger than rice.) |

Well, Bill's MIA. My prospects for continuing work on Cyborg X are about as dim as they were before I knew about it, so it's time to move on.

| Taking a HintTaking a Hint | 8/16/2002 |
Well, I think Bill has officially signed off. I haven't heard from him in a month, and friend of his also has not heard from him very recently. I hope everything is ok with him. Whatever the case, however, I am going to put my Cyborg creation on hold and start pursuing my own projects.
I have been looking at different game engines to start learning. I am still not very interested in becoming a programmer, but I can handling scripting languages. So, I've narrowed the search down to Dark Basic Pro and WildTangent. DBPro uses a BASIC like language while WT can use Javascript to make their games' logic run. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but nothing is perfect. Trust me, I've looked.
So, pending any news from Bill, I will probably remove the Cyborg-related material and start showing my own material. |

| I've lost contact with Bill for that past couple of weeks. This is not good. If you are reading this, Bill, please drop me a line. |

| Enter the Sparker!Enter the Sparker! | 7/30/2002 |
| Fresh and added to the Cyborg X page is a "Sparker". Based on one of Bill's designs and then reminded by a Dr. Who video compilation I saw at Best Buy, I decided to crank out a first draft of it. As usual, maps are another thing, but they are on their way.

| SIGGRAPH was great! I got to meet Martin Hash and many of the programmers at Hash, Inc. My demo on mixing CG and live action in Hash went pretty well every day, no real serious problems. I also got to meet David Rogers, author of the new AM20002 Handbook. He's a very nice guy and very knowledgable about AM.
I also got in -some- work on my cyborgs. Without SIGGRAPH hanging over my head now, Cyborgs are my only extra-cirricular, so look for good stuff soon! |

| Getting Ready for SIGGRAPHGetting Ready for SIGGRAPH | 7/16/2002 |
| I am currently preparing my demo for the Hash booth at SIGGRAPH in San Antonio next week. I'll be talking about how to combine CG and live video in Animation Master. It's going to be a sort of cooking show, where I explain what is going on and then I uncover the finished product as if it takes no time at all to render. Wish me luck! |

| Go to the Cyborg X page to see my latest Viewpoint of Cyborg 1. I've been getting a lot of great info from Bill and Randy about how to do this part of the job and really appreciate the help. While definitely not the "easy" part of the job, some of the pain is gone now.:) |
